1.Gather the key points. Always take a second to think about the key point in a speech topic. If the topic was “what are your happiest moments in life?”. The key points would be happy, moments and life. So these are the three main things you have to talk about and remember. Don't deviate from the topic。

2.Don't go straight to the point. There's three parts to a speech. Introduction, content, conclusion. Don't EVER start with your content. If your topic was “do you like reading books?”. NEVER EVER start off with “yes I like reading books”. The best way to start off would be with a quote or a joke or a personal example that would get the listeners engrossed in your speech. If you directly start with the content, you'll run out of things to speak about.Include personal examples. The best way to capture the attention of your listeners and to extend your speech is by including a personal example. Something, obviously, related to the topic.

3.Practice,practice then practice some more.Before you can deliver any speech confidently you need to have practiced it out loud at the normal speed at least three times.
4.Never write or memorise a speech.Memorize the ideas you plan to express, the order and some key stories, but never sit down and type a speech because it will just sound like a recital. There are some screenwriters who could write a convincing speech, and there are some screen actors who could deliver that convincingly. If you could do that you would have an academy award.
